Commentary:
Ludovico Lipparini (1802-1856) is known to have had a particular interest in Corregio (1489-1534). Lipparini was a professor of painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia starting in 1838. Corregio was one of the leading artists of the Italian Renaissance, so Lipparini might have gotten his interest in him with his academic background. Lipparini was known mostly for history and portrait paintings. SC
